R2D2 Korean Melon

There are times when the imagination kicks in and it becomes so real that it becomes almost like a mini vision of some sort. This is one of those moments when I saw the Korean pear sitting on the counter, I saw very clearly the R2D2 sitting there. About a month ago right after Ira was born, I thought to myself. I have to make an R2D2 with the Korean melon. Life went on, etc etc, when I had time, there was no melon, when I had the melon there was no time. Today however, I had both the melon and time and also wife backup. Thank you God!

So here it is. Some pictures of progress and the unfinished final.

Yes, I know. Where are the legs etc etc. I didn’t have time to finish. Maybe this will keep till the next time all the circumstances align together again.

My wife and I talked about how if this works out I can do a pumpkin version. Maybe?

30 Day Trial of Painter X3 has come to a close

Wow. I now conclude the 30 day trial without getting to paint on the 30th day.
I sat down on my computer to open Corel X3 and got the following screen. I took a screenshot of it so that I’ll have a record of my last day.

At 11:32 PM, just before the next day. Notice that the countdown on the top right says 1 Days Left. So thinking that I could proceed, click the close button.  The whole program disappears off my launch bar on the bottom.  I search for the program with spotlight and open it again to get the following screen.

At 11:34 PM, I have 0 Days left. I must have passed the threshold for the 30 days mark by hours or even minutes. I would like to see if Corel would be able to explain this one to me.

I’m so glad that I did two drawings yesterday.  This will conclude my 30 days of drawing with no drawing on the 30th day, just a screenshot of the 0 days.  My hacker side is itching to hack it so that I can get one more painting that I should get.

If you see another painting, you know what happened.

These are the characters of my experimental web comics that started . . . in the year 2006. It was called “Untitled Life Journey“. That is eight years back. My latest entry to this comic was in 2012. I really miss these characters. It’s like seeing old friends again. I desire to start a new series called “Unlimited Life Journeys”. You will notice that the characters have changed a little bit. This picture is in this form for both artistic purposes and also as a tribute to the experimental & rawness of the original comic. It was one of the things I wanted to do before this trial ended.

Drawn on Corel Painter X3 with custom brush with Wacom Intuos. Day 29 of 30 day Trial.
